Demin Jia is a professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology(SCUT). He has been engaged in teaching and scientific researches in the field of polymer materials and engineering for a long time. His research interests include rubber and plastic engineering, polymer modification and composites, polymer nanocomposites, and functional polymer materials. He has published more than 600 papers in academic journals. He served as the chairman of Polymer Department (1989-1995) and the dean of School of Materials Science and Engineering (1995-2003), SCUT, and served as vice-chairman of Rubber Specialized Committee of Chinese Chemical Engineering Society (1993-2013).
