Dr. Qiang Zheng is a professor and doctoral supervisor. He is a distinguished professor of the “Changjiang Scholar Award Program” of the Ministry of Education, a winner of the National Science Founds for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a national candidate of the “New Century National Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talent Project”. He graduated from the Department of Chemistry of Zhejiang University in 1982, and studied at Kyoto University in 1992-1994. In 1994, he received a doctorate degree from Sichuan University. In 1995, he taught at Zhejiang University and founded first polymer rheology research team in China. He was the deputy secretary of the party committee of Zhejiang University and the president of Guizhou University. He is currently the Chemical Engineering, and the secretary of the CPC Taiyuan University of Technology Committee. He has dedicated himself to the research of polymer rheology and polymeric composites, founded the first academic team of polymer dynamic rheology research in China, and proposed the “two phase” model, which is internationally known as “The model of Song and Zheng”. These leading works have enabled him to be a PI for more than 40 national research projects. Up to now, he has published over 560 SCI-indexed academic papers and a book titled “Polymer Rheology”, received more than 50 national authorized invention patents. His applied researches have generated economic benefits of over 8 billion RMB. He has been awarded Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Award, the Wang Baoren Award for Basic Polymer Research of the CCS, four first prizes of Science and Technology of provincial level (ranked first), and one second prize for national teaching achievements (ranked first).
