Nanying Ning is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor in Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), and the director of Key Laboratory of Beijing City on Preparation and Processing of Novel Polymer Materials. She received her Ph.D. degree in Polymer materials at Sichuan University in 2010. She was a joint Ph.D. student in Polymer Science at University of Akron from 2008 to 2009. She then worked as a post doctor in the College of Light Textile at Sichuan University from 2010 to 2012. She then served as an associate professor in 2012 and a professor in 2016 in Materials Science at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. She has received several awards including the National Hundred Excellent Doctoral Thesis Nomination, Innovation Award of China Rubber Science and Technology, Feng Xinde Polymer Article Nomination Award, and the National Four Youth Talents. As the first author or corresponding author, she has published more than 100 SCI academic papers in high-level journal, including Prog. Polym. Sci, Nano energy, J.Mater.Chem.A and so on.  She is an inventor with more than 20 patents issued.
