Prof. Dr. Xiaoniu Yang is presently the director of Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), concurrently serves as the director of Huangpu Institute of Materials, the deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Chemical Society, the dean of the School of Applied Chemistry and Engineering of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He is committed to the research on functional elastomer composites. Currently he focuses on the design and structure-property relationship of elastomer, digital twin design of elastomer component parts, wear-resistant elastomer and its tribological behavior, biomedical elastomer, flexible tactile sensor, elastomer composites for electromagnetic protection etc. He has presided over the Strategic Priority Research Program of CAS, 863 project of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of NSFC etc. He has published more than 120 papers in international reputed journals such as Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials and Macromolecules. As editor-in-chief he published an international book by Wiley-VCH, Germany in 2012. He has filed 100 Chinese invention patents and among them 56 patents were granted.
