Dr Matthew Thornton BSc (Hons) PGDipBusAdmin FIMMM is the Secretary-General for IRCO since January 2011 and from October 2021 is the Chief Innovation Officer at Polymateria Ltd. Dr Thornton has a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry with Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering. Following his studies Dr Thornton spent 18 months as a KTP Associate at the University of Reading then 7 years at the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. He joined NetComposites in August 2013 as a Project Manager and in April 2016, Dr Thornton joined Haydale Composite Solutions as UK Site and Innovation Director.
